Motorcycle Barton Street-R
The Barton Street-R is a lightweight naked that feels at home in everyday city traffic. A slim construction, exposed mechanics and a sportily designed rear end give it a modern character. The motorcycle is friendly to beginners but also provides the freedom more experienced riders expect. The Street-R weighs 124 kg and is only 745 mm wide. Thanks to this it changes direction efficiently, fits easily into tight spaces and causes no trouble when riding in traffic jams or parking. A wheelbase of 1360 mm, in turn, helps maintain stability during faster riding out of town.
The single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a displacement of 124 cm³ produces 11 HP at 8500 rpm. The air-cooled, electrically started unit works with a five-speed manual gearbox. Its characteristics suit frequent changes of pace and efficient movement through city streets well. The wide handlebar and upright position provide good control over the motorcycle and comfort during everyday riding. At the front a classic telescopic fork works, and at the rear a centrally mounted shock absorber. This combination keeps a suitable balance between comfort and precise handling.
Safety is taken care of by disc brakes with a 240 mm disc and a 3-piston caliper at the front, and a 220 mm disc with a 2-piston caliper at the rear. The system is supported by a CBS that distributes braking force between both wheels. This helps keep the motorcycle stable during decisive deceleration. A painted side panel echoes the trellis frame in its look. The slim rear of the motorcycle is complemented by a fender attached to the swingarm, so the body line stays light and tidy. The whole sits on 17-inch wheels with 90/90-17 tires at the front and 120/80-17 at the rear. An 11-litre fuel tank and consumption of about 2.6 l/100 km mean the Street-R can serve not only for short commutes. It will also cope well during a calm trip out of town, remaining economical and simple in everyday use.
