The Barton Coral 50 is a modern scooter created with daily city rides in mind. It is a smaller counterpart of the popular Coral 125 and makes an interesting proposition for beginner riders and those looking for a practical alternative to a car or public transport. The automatic gearbox makes handling easier, so riding remains smooth and undemanding.
A 16-inch wheel is used at the front and a 14-inch at the rear. Such a combination provides good stability while maintaining the agility needed in traffic jams and when maneuvering in tight parking lots. The larger front wheel makes the scooter negotiate the unevenness of city roads more gently.
The Coral 50 is equipped with disc brakes at both the front and rear. They provide effective and easy-to-feel braking, giving greater control over the scooter in changing urban conditions. The single-cylinder, four-stroke 50 cm³ engine develops 2.1 kW, i.e. about 2.9 HP. It is air-cooled and works with an automatic gearbox. Fuel consumption of about 2.2 l/100 km helps reduce the cost of regular commuting. The engine can be started electrically or with a kick starter.
A flat floor gives the rider a relaxed position and makes getting on easier. A comfortable seat works well during daily rides, and the 7-liter fuel tank allows less frequent visits to the station. The scooter weighs 109 kg, while its load capacity is 160 kg.
