How long should a commuter scooter last?

The frame and motor typically outlast the battery. With sensible charging, expect three to five years of useful capacity from the pack, after which replacement is the deciding factor — which is why the availability of spares for a given brand is worth checking before you buy. A scooter whose battery can still be replaced in year four is worth considerably more than one whose pack has been discontinued.
