What high power actually changes

The obvious difference is acceleration, but the meaningful ones are elsewhere. A dual-motor scooter holds its speed up a gradient instead of fading, which keeps battery consumption predictable on hilly routes. It puts torque through both wheels, which helps on wet cobbles and loose gravel. And it is heavy — a machine of this class is not carried up stairs, so plan where it will live and how it will be charged before you buy.

• Brakes first. Hydraulic discs are not a luxury at this power level; they are the reason the scooter is usable.
• Suspension. Full front and rear travel is what keeps the wheels on the ground at speed.
• Tyres. Wide pneumatic tyres at correct pressure; check them before every fast ride.
• Protective gear. A helmet is the minimum, and gloves and eye protection are strongly advised.
• Storage. A machine of this size and weight needs a ground-floor space near a socket — plan that before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Can a 5000 W scooter be ridden on the road?

Only within the speed and power limits that apply where you ride, which in most of the European Union are far below what the machine can do. Its full performance belongs on private land and closed tracks. The rider is responsible for staying within local rules, and the fact that a scooter is capable of more does not make it permitted. In practice most owners of this class use the higher speed modes on closed land and keep the machine in its lowest mode in town.

How long does it take to charge?

A large pack on a standard charger is an overnight job. Many owners of machines in this class add a second charger to halve the time; ask our consultants which option is compatible before ordering one. Charging is best done indoors, at room temperature, on a surface that is not carpet, and never immediately after a hard ride when the pack is still warm.
